I don't need two kidneys, right?

Everyone who says mindlessly scrolling Facebook is always bad, well, do I have a story for you.

Let me be clear: I’m not an advocate of mindlessly scrolling Facebook. I do it. I wish I didn’t. I’m trying to get better. But sometimes — sometimes — some good can come of it.

A couple of months ago, as I was mindlessly scrolling, I came across a post from my dad. It was a plea for people to sign up to be a kidney donor for one of his friends. My step-dad was a kidney recipient himself. My niece was a heart transplant recipient. And my cousin had donated her bone marrow. I thought about it and signed up.

That has started an awesome journey of kidney donation. I’ve been doing videos to update everyone on the progress and bring them along on the journey with me. And if one other person signs up and donates an organ to save a life, this will all be worth it. I’ve been doing a video blog about the experience, why I’m doing it, and what it’s been like.
